Texas

Welcome to the North Texas Chapter!

We started with humble beginnings in 1995 in Dallas with just 14 members. Today, our chapter is represented by members from Texas Tech University, Baylor Scott and White Health, Freeman, Dallas Independent School District, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Methodist Health System, Pedernales Electric Cooperative, Oxy Inc., Lehigh Hanson, Sava Senior Care, TDIndustries Inc., HCFS Inc., Holt CAT, and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.Let us introduce some of the people who help keep this chapter on its toes. Tom Lyman is the President;  Pam Roblow of HCFS, Inc. is the Vice President; Jan Wallace of Freeman is the Historian; Joanna Wilson of Freeman is the Webmaster; and Anita Poynor with the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council is the Membership Chair. We meet at least once a quarter to discuss the topics our members have said are important to them and to solidify the meeting location. Our chapter meetings are quarterly lunches, graciously hosted at one of our member company sites. We have had a chance to visit such companies as Allstate Insurance, KPMG, The Freeman Companies, Sabre, and Business Imaging Systems. Our quarterly lunches create excellent networking opportunities for guests and members alike. This time provides the ability for all to share/discuss topics relevant to our professions.

Major topics the North Texas Chapter include EDI, Supplier Data Base Maintenance, Procurement Cards, T&E, Utility Bills, and Fraud. General discussions have included topics such as SAP implementation, combining Purchasing & A/P, Sales and Use Tax issues, 1099-MISC procedures, and Re-engineering A/P.
